Conical head of pressure vessel
A conical head is a stainless steel head with a conical surface on the shell. The characteristic is that it can uniformly change the speed of the medium when passing through, making it easy to discharge viscous liquids and materials containing solid particles. However, its mechanical properties are poor, and the discontinuous stress caused by sudden shape changes at the connection with the cylinder or pipe is large. In order to reduce discontinuous stress, a curved transition with folded edges or locally thickened structures can be used at the large or small ends of the conical shell. The design specifications for pressure vessels in China require that when the half cone angle is greater than 30 °, the large end of the cone shell should adopt a folded structure; When the half cone angle is greater than 45 °, the small end of the conical shell should adopt a folded structure. Due to the large wall thickness of the conical head, it is inconvenient to manufacture and is only used when required by the process.
Application scope of stainless steel head: petroleum, electronics, chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, food, machinery, construction, nuclear power, aerospace, military and other industries
